AFSCME Council 61 Endorses Rob Sand for Iowa Governor.

This event is more than a photo op. It’s our chance to show members, the media, and every public employee in Iowa that AFSCME Council 61 is organized, unified, and moving early for candidates who show up and support working people. Rob has stood with us through bargaining fights, DOC safety failures, including the most recent attempt to outsource DOC healthcare services, and every attack on public services we’ve faced. It matters that we stand with him now!

Why your turnout matters:

• A strong room shows the press that public employees are activated going into 2026.
• It reinforces our partnership with the Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO following their early affiliate union endorsement at convention.
• It demonstrates to Rob and his team that AFSCME Council 61 is ready to move, organize, and deliver.
